Voters in the Webster Central School District Tuesday narrowly rejected a $115 million capital improvement proposal that would have added more space for the district’s special education program and upgraded the heating and air conditioning systems at several buildings.

The final vote was 755 in favor and 785 opposed, or 49% in favor and 51% opposed. The turnout of 1,540 was about a third of the 4,529 who voted on the district budget in May.
