Proposed Amendments to Commissioner’s Regulation §155.17

  • Two amendment packages to NYCRR §155.17 related to district-wide school safety plans, building-level emergency response plans, and emergency drills were shared at the April Board of Regents meeting.
  • The first set of changes will go into effect on July 31, 2024, if permanently adopted at the July 2024 Regents meeting.  The explanation of the amendments and proposed language is available in the Proposed Amendment of Section 155.17 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to School Safety Plan Requirements | P-12 (D) 1
  • The second set of regulation changes will go into effect on July 1, 2025, if permanently adopted at the September 2024 Regents meeting.
