“The Penfield Central School District is implementing new security measures at board of education meetings in response to threats it has received in the past couple of weeks.

During a board meeting on Feb. 11 tensions escalated over a discussion about ‘The Rainbow Parade,’ a book depicting a young girl attending a Pride parade with her two moms. Since that board meeting, the district reported receiving approximately 200 messages through various channels. Many of the messages were described as threatening and vulgar.”
