Spencerport Central School District has selected a new superintendent.
Kristin Swann, who is the associate superintendent for educational services for the Victor Central School District, was appointed by Spencerport’s Board of Education at a Tuesday night meeting. She will begin her new position on July 1.
“Kristin demonstrated enthusiasm for student achievement and a commitment to culturally responsive education,” said Board President Kevin Hutton. “Her many years of experience working on behalf of students of all abilities will serve Spencerport well.”
Swann has worked as an associate superintendent in Victor since 2013, and was Victor schools’ director of pupil personnel services for Victor schools between 2004 and 2013. Before that, Swann was the coordinator of special education in the Greece Central School District after starting her career there as a school psychologist.

Swann will replace former district Superintendent Dan Milgate, who retired in January after more that 25 years at the district, his last three as superintendent. Pamela Kissel has been serving as interim superintendent since his departure.
Swann was one of four finalists for the job, along with Nerlande Anselme, assistant superintendent for student and family services in Rush-Henrietta, Joseph Prisinzano, co-principal/assistant to the superintendent in Jericho Union Free School District in Nassau County, and Ty Zinkiewich, Spencerport’s assistant superintendent for instruction.
