In the last 14 days, 773 students at public schools in Monroe County have tested positive for COVID-19, according to data compiled by the New York State Department of Health.
No school district has been immune to the effects of the pandemic, which is surging across the region. Among those feeling the brunt of the latest wave are:
• Pittsford’s Thornell Road Elementary School had 39 students test positive in the last 14 days, including 16 new cases reported on Monday.
Victor Intermediate School reported 19 new positive cases Monday, bringing the 14-day total to 40 students.
• Churchville-Chili Middle School reported 28 students have tested positive in the last two weeks, including 9 on Monday.
• Fred W. Hill Elementary School in Brockport reported 12 new cases over the last seven days and 12 in the week before that.
