The New York State Education Department has contracted with the NYS Association for Computing and Technology in Education (NYSCATE) to provide free professional development related to online learning and teaching strategies utilizing technology.

The NYSCATE courses are designed and delivered by NYS educators, are aligned to New York State learning standards and expectations for quality, and reflect an understanding of the regional differences and needs of our state.

Courses will be asynchronous to allow teachers to complete at their own pace, and CTLE credit will be available.

Courses are free and available to up to 75,000 NYS teachers.

In addition, NYSCATE will present 40 webinars, 20 for teachers and 20 for parents, on a range of topics related to technology used for instruction and learning.

Opportunities are targeted to begin in May 2021 and will run through September 2022.

More information can be found on the Department’s website, or contact edtech@nysed.gov.
