FAQs regarding instruction provided to students in a Home, Hospital, or Institutional Setting pursuant to the addition of Section 100.22 and amendment of Section 200.6(i) of the regulations of the Commissioner of Education (formerly Homebound Instruction) (attachment)
- The FAQS detail specific requirements for determining eligibility for services, and requesting, providing, and denying services for general education and/or special education students.
- Until July 1st, 2023, the current minimum number of hours of instruction per week at the elementary school level is 5; to the extent possible, at least one hour of instruction shall be provided each day.
- Until July 1st, 2023, the current minimum number of hours of instruction per week at the secondary school level is 10; to the extent possible, at least two hours of instruction shall be provided daily.
- As of July 1st, 2023, the minimum hours of instruction will be increased to 10 hours of instruction per week at the elementary level; to the extent possible, at least 2 hours of instruction shall be provided each day.
- As of July 1st, 2023, the minimum hours of instruction will be increased to 15 hours of instruction per week at the secondary level; to the extent possible, at least 3 hours of instruction shall be provided each day.
