IOWA CITY, Iowa – ACT must pay $16 million to students who allege the company provided disability information about them to colleges without their permission and created barriers for them when trying to participate in a college recruitment program, according to a settlement agreement finalized this month.
The students also allege that ACT allowed colleges to search for students based on their disability status and discriminated against them by violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.
