  • The Office of ESSA-Funded Programs 2024-25 Mandatory McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Training memo outlines the requirements of McKinney-Vento liaison’s participation in professional development so they can better identify and meet the needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness.
  • LEA McKinney-Vento Liaisons must attend at least one session per school year and are encouraged to participate in several sessions over the school year to continually advance their knowledge and skills.
  • The New York State Technical and Educational Assistance Center for Homeless Students (NYS-TEACHS) provides free training and webinars for LEAs, social service providers, and other professionals about the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness.
